Of the horses, by the horses, and for the horses

We Provide A Total Retirement Solution For California Raced Thoroughbreds

Q: Can I come see the facility?

A: Yes you can but we are a private facility and are available to give you a tour by appointment only.

Q: Can I come feed the horses?

A: No, sorry but unless you are our a customer our insurance does not cover liability so you will have to go to a public stable or zoo for that.

Q: Why are your adoption prices so low, is something wrong with the horse?

A: We can offer you very low adoption prices because we are assisted by grant money and donations to provide these horses with our quality retirement service.  Our horses are very diverse.  We have mares, geldings, stallions, big, small, injured, sound, basically all kinds of Thoroughbreds and occasionally other horses.  We will be sure to disclose all information that we have when you are adopting a horse from us.

Q: Can I adopt a horse from you and put it back on the race track.

A: Sorry, but in most cases no.  Most of the horses that are retired into our program can only be used for pleasure, show and sometimes breeding.  This is usually at the request of the prior trainer or owner.

Q: Can I make payments on a horse that I want to adopt from you?

A:  In many cases, yes you can.  We offer our own financing program, just fill out an application and it can usually be approved within a weeks time.

Q: Do I get the papers if I adopt a horse from you?

A: In most cases we will be able to offer you the Jockey Club registration papers at little or no charge but with certain limitations or restrictions.

Q: Can I take a horse out on trial?

A: No, we do not allow trials but we are committed to finding the right match so if you want to adopt a horse from us but are not sure if it is the perfect match for you, you can in most cases return the horse for a full credit toward another horse that we have in our care.  Some restrictions apply, please see our policy.

Q: Why should I adopt a horse from you instead of buying from someone else?

A: When you adopt a horse from us, you are not just gaining a horse, but also you are helping a cause.  Many retired Thoroughbred are sold at auction every year and go over seas for the purpose of human consumption.  Our ranch is committed to providing good, forever homes to these horses to assure that they live long happy lives.
