At Whispering Meadows Ranch our mission is to find good “forever” homes for retired, California, Thoroughbreds.  We receive funding to make sure that these horses are retrained, rehabilitated (if needed), and given homes where they will be able to enjoy the rest of their lives.

Thoroughbreds are usually retired due to injuries or other complications by the time that they are just 4 years old.  Less than 1/4 of their life span.  This does not mean that they are worthless.  These wonderful animals, in most cases, can be rehabilitated, and retrained to become great show or pleasure horses.

Our job is to do just that!  We work with many trainers, owners and breeders of these horses to make sure that they are certain to go to good homes after their life n the race track.
